Does anyone 'in the know' have any idea, do the anpr cameras register current MOT availability as well as Tax or is it just tax disc?

From what I've heard in the public domain,

MOT, insurance, Tax, the lot. I am pretty sure they can also flag up any markers on the vehicle - maybe Force specific.

ANPRS  is a comprehensive check, ie; MOT (date expires) Insurance (expiry date) and tax. Can also flag up any other 'problems' with the vehicle, such as  stolen, used for 'other' purposes, and, aparently, for unpaid fines from motoring/traffic offences.

Know this, as brother in law is a traffic cop!! >:( >:(

(NOT because I've committed all these crimes.)  ;D ;D ;D

They check the whole lot.  Police cars that have have ANPR also check for flaged vehicles, stolen etc.  Dunno if the roadside one report that sort of info thou.

With the technology the way it's going it probenly will, and maybe relay it to local cop cars.

everything....

MOT/Tax they also check if the car is wanted for any offences.

Also checks the registered owner, ie "Joe Bloggs" is registered on the log book, if Joe had done an armed robbery it would also flag...

Basically if you have been naughty in any way, it will nab you!

it AAAAALL comes up on a database, this is how you're allowed to tax your car online now, because it can electronically check for insurance and MOT

Thanks guys, i just wondered... I knew you could renew online just didn't know if the database was available in its entirety to the roadside traffic cops...
Strange how you don't get a reminder for your MOT like you do for your road tax and insurance... Maybe they'll fix that soon...
