Shocking
« on: 11 May 2016, 21:35:09 »

Replaced my Omegas rear shock absorbers yesterday, nearside one was totally goosed no resistance left in it at all, offside one must have been replaced at some point in time as all the bolts where copper greased. You've got to wonder though at what sort of numpty would replace only one shocker on an axle.
It does seem to have cured my wandering problem though I'm pleased to say.

I would really recommend to anyone having wandering/ steering issues to get the shock absorbers checked. Especially since the bounce test was removed from the MOT a few years back, the only way a shocker can now fail the mot is by being damaged, insecure or due to a serious oil leak. If like my knackered one there was no sign of an oil leak as there was no oil left in it.

Normally an accident repair where the insurance will only cover the damaged item to be replaced.
