Rover Streetwise spare key fob inoperative
« on: 18 May 2016, 21:28:23 »

As above. Grandson (18 months old) has chewed regular fob, holing it. Emma has a spare key and fob, key works but fob does not. Battery is fine. I tried resynchronising Omega style, but no joy. Any ideas?

Found this ont t'interweb

1. Lock car by using key in lock
2. Move out of range and press button on fob for 5 secs.
3. Unlock car door with key but do not open door
4. Standing near the vehicle, press the dotted button 4 times very quickly, the door should lock
5. Then press the unlock button and door should unlock.

I think the resync procedure is in the manual, along with key entry procedure to disable alarm/immob...

Which only works if you have the correct code as it changes if it's had new keys programmed. You have to be careful that the door lock/switch is working: they often aren't

I think the entry code remains as that the car was originally set with *IF* new keys are programmed correctly.  A lot of the backpages-of-Autotrader key programming companies use gear that overwrites more of the flash than they are supposed to.

Can't test it now, as I'm Roverless ;D
