They certainly won't be as good as the current paper ones. Too shiny and slippery.

Means I'll have to go back to using Andrex  ::)

Plastic banknotes have been in circulation worldwide for decades and Britain is way behind the curve on this.  ::)

Even though they are made from high-quality linen based paper, low denomination notes last about two years before they are destroyed. This was the reason for the £1 coin replacing the note; I'm surprised the £5 hasn't gone the same way.

Got to say I love the idea of a one pound note. Like when in the states you got loads of notes. Although total worth ten bucks lol

Hmm,seems to be a trend starting here for the return of the £1 note.At this rate we'll be wanting the 10 bob [50p] note and white fivers back ;D

Only about twenty years. Which is probably not enough time to draw any worthwhile conclusions ;D
