Cheers for the answers all I was really concerned was when I do my 3.2 engine swap into my omega was that I didn't want it to end up being worse off with the 2.6 box and diff (of that makes sence) but by the looks it'll be alright and hopefully motorway speeds won't be too much of a bother I hope lol
Should not be a problem. Previous owner of my 2.5 silver estate, forum member ajsphead, replaced a dodgy diff with one out of a diesel Omega, probably different final drive ratio, but as the speedo takes info from abs ring on drive shaft it does not matter. It would on an auto, taking info trom gearbox input shaft abs ring.
Not so Terry...

All Omega Bs get their vehicle speed from the Abs wheel sensors via the Abs ecu.

The auto box has a gearbox speed sensor in order to prevent catastrophic gearchanges such as preventing manual downshifts at too high rpm :y

On the subject of 3.2 manual gearboxes they were fitted with an r30 box with longer ratios that the r28 fitted to 3.0 manual.

Read somewhere the stronger R30 box was fitted to the 2.5DTi 24V Diesel lump which we never got in the UK, so would king of make sense if they are on the 3.2 V6's to change the ratios to suit a petrol.

Not sure if its the same gearbox complete or a R30 Internals fitted to the R28 Housing though.

I think the only difference between manual gearboxes are the stronger ones have shot peened internals
