Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if an 'event' happens that leads the Government to overrule the referendum result in the 'national interest'.  :-X

I'm absolutely sure that's what will happen - whether or not that's likely to trigger a complete implosion in the (current) Tory party.

Despite how I voted I don't think they will be able to ignore the continuously falling exchange rate, share prices etc and not do something to protect the interests of the corporate world (which, in reality, tends to be our interests too as they pay our wages in one way shape or form), even if it means career suicide.

Ho hum.

I don't think that will happen. The Tory party wold be in 10 times the chaos Labour are currently in, within 24 hours. It will be more subtle than that. They may well try to leave us with one foot in and one foot out though, to try to pleas everyone to some extent and end up pleasing no-one.
Aka - the good old British compromise.
I hope I'm wrong and Theresa turns out to be the next Thatcher and wipes the floor with every "wet" in sight.  :)

Camoron to resign on Wednesday.

I think this is better than pissing about until September for a new Tory leader/PM.

With a bit of luck Tessie will have Article 50 signed by Friday. ::) ::) ;)

No going back then. :y

They all seem to have forgotten the Act of Parliament they passed. deliberately, to STOP sudden unplanned elections.... as they were totally pissed off at losing one so badly when they expected to win ..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixed-term_Parliaments_Act_2011

Perhaps they need to actually KNOW what they vote for ... mind you .. they voted for Corbyn originally, which might explain a lot ....  :)

It's unlikely I agree but there are provisions in the Fixed Term Parliaments Act for early elections, such as a vote of no confidence in the government for example.  ;)

Highly unlikely, no matter how small the majority.

I'm sure steady Eddie, Toxic Theresa will see through #Brexit as she understands the end of democracy in the UK if she doesn't!  :o :o :o Although most of us dislike politicians, most MPs in Parliament do understand the importance of history and the evolving 800 years of democracy from the signing by King John of the Magna Carta in 1215 at Runnymede. This defines our long standing strong institutions, political and legal processes and the rule of law. :y :y :y If you were designing the system, it would be nothing like, but hey, it works and we are one of the very richest and best countries in the world. :y :y :y

If you are a realist, you understand what the EU is and isn't and without democratic processes, nobody can hold them to account, like we can UK politicians. :( :( :(

What us plebs understand is we must obey laws, democracy holds those accountable to us who make them on our behalf, in the EU dictatorship you could not vote them in or out and the laws will be decided on the basis of what is best for them. If you want to know more Goggle "EU oligarchis capture through lobbying" and you will understand the corporatism of the EU. Crony capitalism and snouts in the trough all round! :( :( :(
