Chilled Glove Box
« on: 14 July 2008, 17:44:21 »

With the lovely hot weather we are now having I am missing my lovely chilled glove compartment that kept drinks cool in my Senator.  8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

It has also made me remember that I had the same on my 1996 Elite (?).  ........and I know the dimensions of the miggy box is next to useless for what I need to put in there!

Anyway, did the miggy have such a thing (or am I getting confussed again!)?

If it did or didn't, is there a way to rig up the a/c / cc system to provide such a facility?

I do miss the cold cans of Coke (nothing stronger)! ;D 8-) 8-) 8-)

I believe there's a mention of it in my owner's handbook, but there's clearly nothing of the sort in the car.  :(

Must have been dropped on later models, I reckon.

Now all I need to do is find a way to fit one on my current CDX! :-?

You want summat like this Lizzie.....

http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/electric/car/1/8

Ive got a similar one......only prob is where to put it so it doesnt fall about on the move.....

I keep meaning to screw a piece of perpex down to the carpet just in front of the driver seat up against the prop well, then using double sided sticky pads stick it down to the perspex.......tho there may be better fixing points on the one in the link......the one i have just has 4 little rubber pads to sit on.......doesnt stop it moving about tho.

The small gloveboxes on later omega's wouldnt be because of he passenger airbag fitted would it?  :-/

I can only think that if your gonna fit a prefacelift glovebox.....you might have to loose the airbag  :-/

True, My GLS has a second glove box where the air bag is.  Not massive but am allready missing the space on my Elite.
