Omega Auto Gear Stick Stuck in Park
« on: 31 July 2016, 03:28:06 »

Hello Everybody,
had a very frustrated day today with my Omega 2.5TD Estate.
Basically, had to leave the car because I can't get the gear stick to move out of it's park position.
The car runs fine, so it's not a mechanical problem. Is there a manual override somewhere? It must be an electrical fault, a bad sensor or faulty contact. Help greatly appreciated.

Please read the manual :y
That's to say that reading the manual is quicker and easier than me typing " Unclipped the selector gaiter and press the yellow tab whilst simultaneously moving the lever out of park.. "

What year were the inhibitor solenoids added?

Both my previous 96 and current 97 do not have it installed

Considering that autos have had inhibitor switches for decades, that is unlikely.
