Was just wondering if anyone has any idea as to how meny pre face lift 2.5 omega estates are still on the road.

Had 3 comments as to how rare my 1999 omega is and it got me thinking.

auto or manual, V6 or Diesel? trim level?

I know many people have issue with the site, but it does give a fair old clue, only thing is doesn't appear to do bodytype... if it helps 25% of Omega production was estates - this may fluctuate after 20 years of course, in the same way that there's a disproportionate amount of Elites out there, when in reality they must have accounted for maybe 5%, yet half the Omegas you seem to see these days are Elites. (if you can buy one of two £300 bangers, ones a GLS, ones an Elite, which would you buy? and so on)

No, you're fine, just happens that those details leave a few options. If you'd said 'my omega's a 3.2' and nothing more then that immediately rules out PFL, even early FL, and most trim levels, that all  :y

As you cans see by the link, there's a matter of some hundreds, and in the case of mine just 60 registered on my trim level and engine, with too-cool-for-a-clutch-pedal box  8).

So acording to your link, there are only 4 on the road and 10 on sorn.

Maybe I should give her a little TLC, She is my everyday work horse, just clocked 197000 mile and still runs like a dream. :D

Thanks for the info.

And that's why she's still going, good man  :y long may she drive  :y

I'd imagine being a manual, she'd actually have a nice amount of 'poke' in the right gear, on boost. My auto TD on the 0.1% of the time it was in the right gear did pull very nicely. Unfotunately normally the 'box would see a hill and go 'change up! change up!' upon reaching the brow (by now travelling at 39mph in a 60), would then go 'change down! change down! 6,000rpm? goood!' ruddy useless, haha!

Hi guys

I have a 1998 mfl cdx estate with 129,000 miles 2.5 v6, service history up to 80,000 miles
rear wheel arches starting to go, will need to sort very soon, only real problem for me was the heater matrix went
whilst driving, nearly completed, i wonder how much it would cost to have it done at the stealers or any other garage.

Yes manual does make a big difference, I have had the ecu chiped  back to BMW spec which made a big improvement, but other than that she is standard.
Over all she is in good nick, rear arches are just starting to show signs of rot and bottom of doors, but would not take much to sort it out. Can you still get rear arch repair panels?

I know... without becoming predatory, I have a mate who may be in the market for PFL and TD bits, should you decide not to put yours back on the road/its beyond repair, etc... at least some stuff could go to keep another on the road.

On a more positive note, depending on the nature of the damage, my spares car is a PFL. Saloon and a 2.0, so lots no doubt useless to you, but if for example yours has front-end or side damage, then for near-pence you could acquire my manky old spares motor and get yours back on the road very very cheaply?
