Arranging courier collection.
« on: 05 August 2016, 12:03:17 »

I may be buying a pair of tyres located in Southampton which is collection only, or buyer arranges courier.
Ive sent plenty of things by courier in the past but never arranged to have stuff collected from a seller. Anyone know the usual routine for this, best courier to use etc. ?
Tia.

Simply bound together and most carriers will take them... Wrapped is preferred as it stops arguments on collection ;)

Seller has just told me that there is no-one at home during business hours to deal with a courier, so it may be a non starter.  :-\ :(

When that happens as buyer or seller, to avoid just that very thing, I arrange to take to the depot or collect from there. I've wasted so much time waiting in for delivery/collection, never knowing if/when they'll turn up. Luckily there are a lot of Depots near me for the big (and not s big couriers). Saves so much time.

SO32. Seller isn't very co-operative though.I had given up on the idea and then someone on another forum said they could collect them and take them to a guy in Worthing who would then deliver them to me. All extremely kind and helpful, so I got interested again.
The guy who was going to collect them wanted to collect during the week as he works in the area. Seller said nope. He isn't at home during business hours, so it had to be weekend.
I then thought borrox to him,I wont bother. Auction finished, but he has now relisted the tyres £20 cheaper then last time.  ::)
Anyway, thanks for the response Lee, very kind of you.Im not at all sure what to do now tbh.  :-\

OK about 30 mins from me. If you decide to go for them and get stuck let me know and I'll see what I can do.
