Question for the "spirited" Omega drivers among us....
« on: 06 August 2016, 18:42:45 »

So I have changed my driving style quite a bit over the last little while. I've been putting my foot down pretty much everywhere I go. I don't usually drive with passengers unless it's a holiday or summat. But yesterday had two passengers in the car. Kid and adult. And my car seemed sluggish.

Once they got out the car performed exactly as it always does with just me.

So question really is how many passengers do you take before you notice the extra weight holding you back.

Note that the adult and kid were normal size and not fattys  ;D though same can't be said of me at 17.5 st  :-[

And for the record my car for an omega is "pretty nippy" as told to me by Serek when he drove it  ;D

That I put down to the aforementioned change in driving style and the tranny learning. My car drops a cog and flies even at part throttle now.

Perhaps you need to upgrade to the adult spec Omega? ;D
Although driving that in the same way will soon downgrade you to the bus courtesy of a grumpy magistrate.

You do drop yourself in it sometimes Mr WtB, try changing into Mens clothes and remove all the makeup next time before you go for a spin.  ::)

You need a gearbox upgrade for one thing...

TBH, if I am loaded, I do tend to drive with more leeway, but can't say its especially noticeable in either Omega...  ...I'm sure scientific results would say otherwise in a straight drag race/stop

Still need to come to you for that TB if the offers still on.  :y

Yeah it's odd. First time I really noticed it. But as said with just me it was noticeably back to how it normally is  :y

Don't think I've ever owned a car where I couldn't tell if the petrol tank was full or not.  But then I weigh 10.5 st so my weight is slowing the car down less to start off with.  Every car slows down noticably with passengers in my experience. Even 400bhp.

And for the love of god Webby... if you must insist on driving an old man's car ;) even if we all have to chip in a fiver... will you PLEASE get a 3.0 already!  :P  Either that or make Mark's franken-hybrid 3.2/2.6/3.0 thing!  :D

Lol if anything happens to my car (which I pray it doesn't as I love it) I will have to go for a UK mustang with the biggest engine on offer...... assuming I could "find" the funds

The one with the 5.0 v8 in the trim I would have would be £37090. Gulp.

Agreed.

If you must get a fud, the baby engine one is as quick as the v8?, and cheaper to run.
