Well i've got a good laptop but work !

Well guys work last week gave me a choice for a work laptop they said anyone u want so i said this 1 will do :) http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=358355
And they've ordered it for me :o i love my boss ;D

Its HP. There will be something wrong with it....
I agree, and other than that it takes two people to carry it!

My HP laptop worked great, until just before it died.  ::)

Naaah......get a Dell.....guaranteed to survive getting soaked in orange juice and red wine  :y
(i'll test it with coffee next time to see what happens  ;D )

My last company laptop was a Dell and it was bloody awful.....batteries died every 14 months....keyboard went iffy every 18 months, touch pad had a habit of dragging the mouse to the top left corner.....

Got an IBM now and although the build quality is better.....its dam slow....

I didn't think people kept them that long these days. In the wifes school they seem to be getting new ones every five minutes :-/

Mark, your battery problem usually happens if it spends most of its time plugged in to mains...   ...and who are Dell's primary battery supplier? Oh yes, that crap outfit that makes crap stuff, beginning with S  >:(

Touchpads shouldn't drift, touchsticks do though.  I prefer touchsticks - touchpads are not as productive.

Stinkpads are well made, but as you've discovered, tend to be far from cutting edge spec....

I'm pretty happy with this stinkpad I borrowed.  Laptops aren't for power IMO.  Still trying to figure out the IBM sw, inlcuding why it has so much trouble with DHCP with 'IBM Access Connections'.  OK, so I'm not thrilled w/ it, but much better than my HP  >:(

My Dell Latitude still has it's original battery, about 7/8 years old now.

Highley recommend Dell.
