Immediate problem sorted.  The hotel reception who claimed they could do nothing initially mysteriously "found" the bag that had gone missing from the locked room as soon as the police asked if it was possible to get a log of keycards that had been used to access the room in the 5 minutes in question...

Funny that. It was the same with a leather jacket that I'd left in the cloakroom of a nightclub years ago, "found" just at the instant when my mate, the off duty firearms officer, flashed his badge.  ::)

Given the interest that we subsequently attracted from some of the less savoury patrons, we had to make a sharp exit, but...  ;D

Or, as the captain termed it, a "mechanical issue with engine #1". D'ya think? ;D

How much do you really want to know when you can do nothing about it?
Would knowing that the left-hand limited reciprocating gronklewanger has laterally bisected the inductive photon support tube help as you check your ID is in your pocket, assume the crash position and wait to die a slow, painful flaming death?

It was just a brilliant piece of understatement. Gauges in cockpit say "mechanical issue". Windows say "fsckd in a very big way". ;D

Be fair to say that the 737 could replace the Dakota as "Aircraft most able to withstand abuse"... the DC3 having a reputation for being indestructible 8)

That did appeal to me.  Like the racer who listed electrical fault as the reason for his DNF. Which is technically true when a conrod has smashed through the alternator ::)

They've been used for so long, and damaged in so many ways, that there is probably an approved repair for just about any damage that you do.
