Wanted...trim
« on: 02 September 2016, 00:36:14 »

I require the trim that goes from the wheel arch to the rear lights on a 2000 'W' Facelift Estate. I don't know what you call it, except, that earlier cars had it in rubber.
Passenger side required.
PS....how do you get them off !!! :)
PPS.....no hurry as I am away until October, unless someone in Dorset area has one I could collect :y

PM replied to :y Meant to say, also have the reflectors if required...

Removal is pretty straightforward,  undo screw at front end and carefully pry the trim off... sometimes the clips don't break completely,  but they often do ::) Four along the side, with one on the end under the light :y

Try not to break the clips, they're over £2 each.

Removing the screw at the front might lead to some swearing as mine revealed a rusty hole. The car I got the replacement trim from wasn't much better.

The screw wouldn't turn on mine, so I ground the head off. This is what I found:

Which required this repair to both inner and outer arch:

That also shows where the mounting clips fit; there should be another about where the weld is.

The other side is similar although I haven't fixed it yet, and the car I got the replacement trim and bumper from wasn't much better.
