Talk Talk Mobile
« on: 05 September 2016, 11:59:28 »

Any Good? Anyone use them?  ???

Seems they have a decent sim only deal at £7.75 pm which includes 2GB data, 700 minutes and unlimited texts.  :-\

Anyone know which network they use?  ???

I'm reviewing all my utilitys etc to see if I can save some cash! TIA!  :y

Closest EE have is 250 mb, 250 mins, unlimited texts at £9.99 per month.

3 have 500 mbs, 200 mins, unlimited texts at £8.00 and I can tether, although not much with 500 mbs!  Tempting as I'm with 3 at the mo, so easy switch.  :-\

Otherwise it's GiffGaff etc

They use Vodafone, pretty much all the Talk Talk Mobile deals are for existing Talk Talk Broadband Customers only.

I'm with Talk Talk broadband which is part of my review!  ;)

Thought I'd see if I can get a good overall deal by switching my mobile to them as well!  :y

Just for info, EE are now taking the 'what was always been on Vodafone', tethering on any plan now, you pay pay for it, you do what you want with it. fairly sure most of the other Networks give an data allowance, then after that, tethering is extra (not sure about O2 these days).

How much data do you need per month?

500mb should do it.  I used to use 20gb a month and at the moment am on a 3 all you can eat data plan, but not using it now so no need to pay for it!

I don't think I can tether on the Talk Talk plan.  :-\

Yea, similar, I still have an old T mobile (now EE) which is 2000mins, unlimited TxT and Unlimited Data (which you really can hammer, has a fair use policy of 10,000gb per month or something stupid), had it for years, was 14.99pm, same every 12 months, the buggers have just put it up to £22pm recently and keep trying to move me over to an EE 50gb plan for the same money, dont really use much, but I know once I give it up its gone for good.  :-\  maybe I should sell it.  :D

Some of these sim only deals are expensive though, seeing as you don't get a phone thrown in!  ::)

Depends on the deal, if you look at what your actually paying with a phone over 24 months, the 12 month Sim only's can work out cost effective. Plus most Networks will give you Airtime Discount on the Sims after your 12 months, if you sign for another 12 months or a better deal.  ;)

Also bare in mind if your going to hop Networks every 12 months, then look a TopCashBack or Quidco that can normally knock £5+ per month off a 12 month Sim with cash back.

Just been on the phone to Talk Talk and they've given me a much better home phone and broadband deal, and with the mobile sim only deal that I mentioned in the OP tethering is allowed.  That beats any of the other deals I've seen!  :y

Arrrrrrrgggghh

Mobile phone deals just do my head in  :o  probably why I've never switched. Was with BT, then BT Cellnet, then O2. Never had much cause for complaint. A few years ago when my daughter went to the USA and ran up a £700 bill using skype etc, they cancelled it with very little hesitation or discussion  :y
