Vodafone starting to feel the squeeze?
« on: 28 July 2008, 17:34:08 »

With all these wonderfull deals available on various Mobile Networks, I've recently been giving Vodafone a real hard time lately to put me on something decent or I’m off!, been with them nearly 20 years!

Here's their lasted monthly tariff offer, to keep me :-

500 cross network mins.
Unlimited Landline Calls, 01, 02 numbers.
Unlimited Mobile Internet (fair use policy).
Unlimited Text’s (don’t do them much, might start).
Free Voice mail and Server Download.
Free Fax mail Server (Converts the Fax to Tiff doc, then emails you).
Free email (pop 3 with 10 addresses)
Free Itemised Billing.
Free International Call Saver and Vodafone Passport.
Free monthly Insurance.

All on a 12 month contract, Non Direct Debit, for £17.00 pm,

And because I didn’t renew my Hand Set they added £100 credit to my account, if you work that over 12 months brings my tariff down to £8.66 pm.

Just goes to show what can be done with some persistence, and not re newing your Hand Set every year!

Its a good deal which, belive it or not, will suit them more than you.

1. Resonable percentage of people not renewing device with new contract will need to call back at some point with a fauly device. Cue opportunity to upsell....

2. N Unit price of device - and the subsequent - saving for the company by not giving you one will be nearer to a £200 to them.

Everyones happy then i guess  :y

How True!,

Prior to their last offer, they where thinking of giving me a Nokia Black N95 8Gb, But Ive poor reports on them, Prob best I stick with my Trustee SE K800, accept their Tariff offer and scr*w them again in 12 months time for a new Hand Set!

we are seeing more returns on Nokia than any other handset - 4 fold compared to SE.

Not that the Nokia`s have any massive underlying problem. Just as you say SE becoming very reliable.

Sorry TB  ;D

I have never had a contract for a mobile, allways used PAYG.  Maybe getting to the point where they are worth considering now.
