Any Saab owners/experts/enthusiasts on here?
« on: 31 October 2016, 18:57:29 »

Needed to change my omega as I'm now doing around 120 miles per day and it's breaking my heart and pocket to do it in my 2.6 omega. Been looking at diesels and wanted something comfy and easy on fuel. Had a good look around and finally settled on saab. Had my heart set on a 9-3 and had practically bought the 1.9 120bhp when I noticed the ttid models! Holy shit they look good! Still 1.9 diesel but with a twin turbo setup pushing out 180bhp and doing much the same mpg as the 120bhp (on paper anyway).
So I've gone and bought myself one and pick it up on Thursday.  I've heard some good reports about saab and I couldn't fault the motor myself but it's hard to find many people who've owned one. I'm wondering is there anything I need to look out for in them or are there any specific faults they have??? I'm hoping with the wealth of knowledge on here someone will be able to steer me right

That's the only bloody fault I had with the car, the fact that it's not rear wheel drive!!! Took it for a test drive and it's serious quick. Makes my omega feel like I'm driving with the handbrake on!

It is not uncommon for the front springs to snap on older/higher mile examples, just like most correct wheel drive cars with MacPherson front suspension.
And it does have a timing belt unlike most SAABs.

They seem to be pretty solid solid motors..
