... whereas anyone who knows what they're talking about knows that as soon as you involve "chips" you've got a security headache out of all proportion to what you had before.

The problem with 80% of these security breaches is that the government, in their infinite wisdom  ::) , outsource everything -- they have no control and the companies they outsource to just want to make a quick buck and, hence, cut many corners.

15% is down to wanting to get staff to do twice as much in half the time with a quarter of the resources needed.

The other 5% ???   Sheer stupidity, really !!!!

(If I was a tax man -- that would, of course be "The other 10%" -- well, they never get any of MY figures right !!)

These passports can definatly be used to commit all types of crime, with or without so called "chip technology", as the various security experts have stated. ::) ::)

The Government are just trying, as all good political practice demands, to soften the magnitude of so many going missing due to their incompetence! >:( >:(
