.....here, yet, but I reckon there's a good chance later. How's everyone else doing?

Swanage took a bit of a battering, broke away some of the sea wall, and a bit of flooding....

As we are about 60m above sea level and near the top of the gradient, I'm not worried :)

Well, I live on a hill  :y

But the river often floods after/during heavy rain, and it's been pissing down all day. Taking a walk t'pub soon, wax coat and hat time.

My problem is the effin house. Big old thing with damp and leaks :(

I'm afraid that height above sea level doesn't matter. Hebden Bridge (not far from us) is twice as far above sea level than you http://dateandtime.info/citycoordinates.php?id=2647207 but they have been flooded the past few years Hebden Bridge flood pictures)  :(

You don't think all that water ran off the surrounding hills to the lowest local point then?

I popped out to the supermarket earlier which is 5 miles away and loads of water on the roads and saw 3 or 4 ponds where there shouldn't be and this included Tesco's car park!  ::)

Also saw a car under a tree on the main road with Police in attendance.  One of the WPC's looked upset and I have to say it didn't look too good for the occupants of the car.   :-\   :(

Hoping all UK Omegas are still dry ;)

Everything has two sides, even channel orkan Nanette.

Here deepdown southwest Germany we got a a mighty swap of Mediterranean air. Yesterday it was dry and sunny at 18°C here in Lahr. Today temperature in the Bodensee area reached 21°C. Not so bad for end November :)

If you are at 60M above sea level, and are also the highest point around, you are safe. If you are in a valley that is 120M above sea level, watch out  ;D

I purposely bought on a hill, as I moved a year or 2 after some flooding where I used to live. So I don't worry too much about the rain, even though the back garden tends to flood a few inches in very heavy rain.

I'm also on top of a hill, but when we get really heavy rain its a struggle to get out of the village, as all roads out go downhill and then up again. The valleys at the bottom get pretty badly flooded.
