Putin upping the ante in Kalingrad.
« on: 22 November 2016, 13:44:16 »

I see Putin is moving missiles to Kalingrad.

To provoke NATO? Or as a result of NATO provocation?

Does the team (Rods2* incoming) think that Trump is going to earn plaudits by defusing the situation (probably already agreed with Putin), a solution to Syria and earn kudos in the New Year? In return Putin will be offered a lightening of trade sanctions which must be crippling the country.

*PS how are your health issues?

Rods mode on // Putin is a horrible little tw*t who is going to invade Europe and take over the world. We need to nuke him now. As it says in our beloved American bible 'Do unto others before they do unto you'. // Rods mode off.

Maybe it's just because that nice Mr Putin has run out of parking space in the Donbass.  :-\  ::)

Comment by someone with the nomenclature "Henry V", shamelessly stolen from elsewhere:

As your king and commander-in-chief I have spent the afternoon deliberating over what we should do as a people if the EU goes to war with Russia. I have decided that we will only intervene if Russia asks for help. That is all.

 ;) ;D

Tensions are ramping up with, which suits Putin's nationalist agenda as staying in power is always his number 1 priority and without an increase in oil prices, Russian financial reserves even with continued cuts in most areas except defense and internal security forces (which are both being expanded) the sovereign reserves will run out in 2017. To survive without a 1990's default and financial crash, he will have to use the pensioners wealth fund to fund the sovereign debts. Where Putin is currently being very aggressive the danger is another (and worse) MH17 type incident that the West can't ignore.

With two thin skinned vindictive, impulsive (although Putin is slightly more calculating) egotists as presidents of the two main nuclear powers, what could possibly go wrong? :o :o :o Personally, I think Putin would have preferred Clinton being president as she is predictable (and like Trump has extensive business interests in Russia), with more and regular email revelations and Trump calling the election rigged this would have probably made her a dead-duck president.

Trump's body language has been for along time, that he's got further than he expected, where he doesn't really want the job. Now he has it, he is struggling right from the off in just forming his transition team.

Revelations are beginning to appear from Russian officials where Trump and he election team have been talking for the last 12 months with Russian officials, including a possible Yalta type agreement.

Sweden who are not exactly know for their military prowess these days have suddenly strengthened their forces and announced an increasing military buildup in 2017 on their pivotal Baltic island of Gotland, just before Putin started his major buildup in Kalingrad. Something is obviously going on here, but not sure what yet?

Thanks for asking about this, it is appreciated. In most areas it is back to how it was before my flu injection, apart from my eyes, where I have lost about 20% of my vision in my left eye and about 80% in the right one. Apart from glasses which will impove my left vision, this won't improved further. My right lower arm and hand have fully recovered, my balance has much improved and my memory is slightly better. Where my dad got MS at 50, fortunately I haven't got this. :y :y :y

I've fortunately always treated life as my personal adventure and like everybody I've had my good and bad bits. I'm a positive person and good at accepting I am where I am, taking one day at a time and getting on with it. :y :y :y

Cannot see how, or why President Elect Trump would be talking to the Russians over a year ago, especially if, as suggested that he didn't want the job ::)

Any help he is receiving re selecting his team will probably contain alot of self interest from those giving the advice... and sorting the sound advice from the rest is a job in itself...

Hilarys team might have been ready to go, but she thought she was running a one horse race. And you can guarantee that the process that President Elect Trump is publicly going through now, she went through 18 months ago and behind closed doors.

Besides, at least he is manning up to the job in hand unlike Boris the escape artist.

Boris.....I'm becoming more convinced every day that he is a very bad choice for the job. He is a laughing stock in Europe and, if we are not careful, he will merrily f*ck the whole process up by alienating every other FM he talks to.
He is about as suitable for FM as Nigel is for ambassador to the US.

I can't work out if Boris is stupid or just enjoys poking the EU lot.  :-\

He's really pissed off the Germans recently by suggesting that Turkey should be allowed to join the EU, after spending the referendum campaign warning of the consequences of Turkey joining.  ::)

And he pissed off the Italians by suggesting they will sell us a lot less Prosecco if the EU won't play ball and allow us to trade freely post BREXIT.  ::)  They replied that we will sell a lot less Fish n Chips.  ;D

I wasn't even aware we exported Fish n Chips to Italy!  :o  ::)  ;D

Stands to reason. Lots of our finest F and C shops are Italian run. They would need hotting up when you got them home though.

Turkey. Now that is a whole separate issue. Start a thread on it!

As the German FM more or less said "WTF has it got to do with you, Boris, whether Turkey joins or not. You won't be a member, don't you get it?"
