I remember when VAT came in. Some people initially believed that it was a cash handout from the government.

Think about it.....'Value added' sounds like a positive statement.

Where has this JAMS term come from.? Just about managing families. Well that is just about everyone isn't it? I thought the taxation system was designed to make jam out of us all otherwise we would be revolting ( present company excluded of course) ;D

Quite so! The extension of right to buy that was mentioned won't help either as I doubt Housing Associations will build them as fast as people are buying them.  :-\
