Shed/rats
« on: 29 November 2016, 17:15:18 »

I have a shed at the bottom of the garden which keep getting rats living underneath. It wasnt built on a concrete base so they just dig under. I keep blocking the holes but they just start another on. I know there is a gap under they so i was wondering if i sprayed under it with sump oil do you thing that would stop them or could anybody surgest something else i could use.

No local cats around? Our garden is very rodent free thanks to Max Cat!

I wouldn't want to pour used oil into my own garden.

Rat poison? Hideous stuff but then rats are pretty hideous.

When the OH 's uncle died his shed had the same problem. It had actually sunk on one corner due to the extensive rat works. The shed was full of them too. Horrible.

If you haven't got a jack Russell, and fire is out of the question then, First you need to find the runs, then put traps, use peanut butter,. and continually, check and dispose of the bodies, also there is obviously a food supply, somewere close, get rid of that, do you have pets(rabbits or a like),is a neighbor feeding the birds, all needs to be looked at, rats only appear when there is food and shelter.

Doesn't the local council have a Pest Control operative (Rat-catcher!)?
