EuroCarParts Price Hiking

Todays New Code is JANSALE in there "Up to 55% Off Everything", get you about 25% Off.

The old XMAS code seems to still be working in there "Up to 69% Off Everything" gets you about 33% Off.

Word of warning though during these Periods ECP have highly over inflated there prices again (i thought they stopped doing this, seems not), think the clue here is when they do a "Up to XX% Off Everything" against a standard "XX% Discount Code".

Example, needed some bulbs, most of there rear bulbs are normally something like 27 to 50p each etc, all these bulbs where priced at 99p during the Xmas period, 33% Off 99p, you get the idea.

Also needed a couple of Batteries Type 100, 70Ah price went up to RRP £104, now reduced to ECP price £87 each, with 33% Off, works out, £58 each, then go on ebay to someone like CarParts4Less, same Battery, same make and spec £47 inc free delivery, delivered by, you guessed it, ECP.

Dont get me wrong theres bargains to be had, especially the BOGOF and Half Price Oil Offers etc, but you really need to do your Homework first before diving in with there Offers if your planning on spending a few quid.

No, the reason is they think they can fool half the people some of the time, so attempt to try and fool all of the people all of the time.

I just bought some stuff for SWMBO`s Panda and used the code "MEGAXMAS" to get 33% off, a healthy saving when you`re spending £100.

The thick British public expect a better than half price sale after xmas, so most retailers will oblige in one of 2 ways:

1) Order in cheap goods specifically for the sale - this is what virtually all high street retailers and "outlet stores" do, ordering in their boxing day sale stuff around early summer.

2) Take their existing stock, inflate the prices, and then put on a big red "up to xyz%" sale sticker, and the thick British public will be uncontrollable with demand for it, and happily pay more than the original non-sale price, thinking they have had the bargain of the century.

Some are a bit too obvious - the ECPs of this world - while more luxury type outlets tend to be better at wool pulling.

As always, buyer beware. There are rarely the bargains you think they are out there, and the old addage applies - a fool and his money are easily parted.
