I have a resting blood pressure in line with the rest of my temperament, the medical term is "can't be arsed". The upshot is if I try to give blood, I pass out when the cuff goes on beforehand. Slightly embarrassing as it was only diagnosed when I passed out in the (standing up) medical machine in the Army... had to get a couple of big lads to drag my useless torso across to a bench...

Yes. Up at 5:30, carry wifey's stuff out to the car, after defrosting it if necessary. Get son up, feed and water, off to college. Take doggie for an hour long walk. Do the shopping. Feed neighbours horses. Lunch. Take doggie for number 2 walk. Afternoon tv whilst ironing, washing, etc. Cook sons tea. Cook our tea ( different teas, different times). Do the dishes. Watch eastenders  ;D. Collapse in bed.
Do it all again, all day, every fickin day.

Edit: This is in reply to Opti. Bleedin Tigger butting in, again.

That's bloody witty for you Uncle STEMO!  ;D

I'm due to give again next month. It will be number 18. Should have been almost double that but they wouldn't let me give when my back was at its worst - not because of the medications but in case I collapsed and they hurt me further! I even offered to sign a disclaimer but they wouldn't have it :'(

Mrs LD has done similar but can no longer give having had 4 units transfused in the last 6 weeks. One of the biggest upsets of it all to her

I must have seen three or four people faint.

Strange thing is that they were all great big 'hairy arsed blokes'.

The number stick thin girlies who donate without any problems is impressive. :y

I mean, a pint of blood is probably what you lose if you get shot. ;) ;) ;D

Back on topic .....  :D my last donation the other week was number 65  :y (excluding one in Mombassa sometime inthe early 80s  ::) )
