Hi all,just been out to the car to get something from the boot and it wont open.Has anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it,95 omega with infra red remote.Any suggestions welcome  Dean.

You could try the key in the lock...

And if it's anything like the estate it can be locked independently of the doors.

Be in the handbook too if I were a betting man

Hi mate i have tried the key in the boot lock and used the key,in the drivers dorr but still wont open mate.Dean.Just going through the handbook to see how that can be done.

Hi all,well finally got in to the boot with the key.But on closer inspection there seams to be damage,to the plastic surround on the boot lid locking mechanism.One side the plastic is pushed in to the metal casing of the mechanism,hence i now cant lock the boot 'dangle berries'.Can i ask first if anyone has a pic of how it should look,second if anyone has one i can buy,and last is it easy to change.TIA Dean

Now that ypuoou atre in the boot you know you can open the boot lid with the cable in thr boot lid, to which you gain access via the rear seat squab. I attach 2 pics, showing the complicated realease systems, with a lever pulled by either the remote solenoid, lever from lock, or long cable fromboot lid near rear seat.

Applicable only to face lift cars ...... the preface cars have a boot with a lock that  you can put a key in

Had the same problem with my car and the wiring had broke were it was clipped to the hinge, might be worth a check

Hi mate in your pick,on the right-hand side of the catch latch.The plastic is damaged squashed in to latch,i have sourced a good one,do you think it would be easy to replace.Looks like just 3 screws but i don't know how it is attached to the mechanism inside,i think it would be worth trying a new one.Dean

I understand that mate,but will it be a simple case of un clipping the old latch.And reattaching the new one to the hinge.Dean.
