How on earth do you break a crankshaft pulley?  :-\

I pressume you mean you're struggling to stop the pulley spinning whilst trying to undo the nut with the breaker bar?  I succeeded in undoing one recently by ratchet strapping the pulley to the chassis.  Appreciate this may not be as practical on an Omega but theoretically ratcheting against any immovable object (lamp post for instance) should yeild the same result.  Some suggest locking the flywheel but knowing my luck I'd shear the crankshaft in half  ::)

Do you mean the large one that the aux belt goes round as there are 4 7/8mm bolts that can be undone that release the pully

how I removed mine on a dti is I used an impact socket , breaker bar then my 10ton trolley lifting bar slipped over the breaker bar & a scaffold tube over them. car in 5th gear h/brake on & the wife pressing hard on the brake. it was hard but it did it.

I did mine by wedging my breaker bar against the osf chassis leg with a piece of wood then flicking the starter, came undone first flick. Then you undo it for what seems like forever until it just about touches the rad if I remember!!

Bit tight but doable.
