The grievance politics of the SNP knows no bounds. This former CND left wing nutter is trying to break the UK apart at the seams, that is her only aim, she hates anything British or English, and Scottish, for that matter, likely stemming from her days as wee eck the CND champion. By God she portrays herself as the antithesis of Margaret Thatcher, however her family done quite well out of Thatcher the milk snatcher's right to buy scheme, buying their lowly Dreghorn council house back in the day.

Further to that her family has roots in....wait for it.....NE England  :o

People here are sick to death listening to her as well. She only got a near victory vote because they canvassed all the poor areas where most of the benefits go, they weren't daft they knew a tory government would cut their benefits and they knew promising to keep all those lovely hand outs would (almost) guarantee them victory.

I hope she gets the referendum date because that will be her effectively naming the day of her political downfall. Until that time just keep asking her what currency we will be using and that will shut her up!

I'm maturing into a chilled out old dude.  :y ..............who hates people.  ;D

It just saves time. Then you weed out the few people that are worth knowing.

The idea of being independent from England, but insisting on being part of the EU is a thoroughly schizophrenic idea.

And as Scotland is part of a union, the other states must have a say in the dissolution of it. How many Scots would accept the English result of a referendum telling them to opps off and stand on their own two feet?

That's genuinely interesting, in a good way.

I know a lot of people in Scotland and do business there. In the run-up to the last referendum I would causually raise the issue talking face-to-face to people I know quite well, and they would just clam-up. Some nasty things went on, and would happen again. There is a rabid mindless nationalistic element at work, blind to reality.

Thank heavens I see no such ambitions here in Wales, well not much.

Politicians love issues. They can cherish and increase them until the oppsers retire. They have no intention or capability of actually solving them.

They will, of course run a mile from being involved with an actual problem

So very true. I just wish I had learned that earlier in life, but better late than never I suppose.   ;)

As the Royal Navy will only buy British it will do wonders for Clyde ship building. All the People's Democratic Republic of Scotland's navy will be able to afford is a rowing boat called Boaty MacStugeon. ;D ;D ;D

I'm sure all the Scottish fishermen will love the thought of getting their fishing rights back to lose them immediately to CAF again. :o :o :o

I'm personally happy for Gordon McRuin to take over the running of such paragons of financial virtue RBS and HBOS, with RBS never ending multi-billion losses, what could ever go wrong. ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Expensive to extract near end of life offshore oilfields are just what you need to compete with the US shale costs which are dropping and dropping with ever improving technology and production techniques. They are just seeing off the OPEC Saudi / Russia production targets with another oil glut forming and prices dropping. :y :y :y Jimmy Krankies drop of oil won't even register on global output in comparison. Trumps pressing ahead with oil pipelines will help drive down costs even further. :)

Of course I would never suggest that we ramp up our own massive shale reserves so we easily undercut Scotland oil and gas costs, no not at all. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

If there is another referendum I think it is only fair that the English, Welsh and Northern Irish get to decide if we want to keep Scotland. The last time I did a pub straw poll on this it was near to 100% of getting rid, with a few brickies offering their services for free in building the wall a bit higher. ;D ;D ;D

Scotch Whiskey is also going to come under pressure where the Yanks have perfected producing the equivalent of 10yo Malt Scotch in a few months and at a fraction of the price. ???

Having a friend, up the far North, who is a boat driver, in a roundabout way for HMG, he has already said, the navel boatyards are crown property, so a referendum. Won't change anything with them, there would be a steady draw down to Portsmouth,  making 1500 minimum redundancy,

Portsmouth harbour is already being made deeper, for the arrival of new submarines.

I just hope that this time round Theresa May takes a harder line than Camoron did, when Alex Salmon had Call Me Dave running scared from the off and he was terrified of accusations of bullying the poor wee Scots.  I thought it was pathetic the way they panicked at the last minute and gave the Scots the extra powers to bribe them to stay.  ::)

Hopefully Theresa May is made of sterner stuff and will spell out exactly what the UK governments position will be in the event of a vote for independence, in terms of currency, borders, etc.   :y

Also I think that the EU should make it very clear whether independent Scotland could stay in the EU, get fast tracked membership or get to the back of the queue behind Montenegro, Albania and Turkey.  ::)

Finally whoever is responsible for the devolution legislation that allows the Scottish Government to call for a referendum on independence whenever they feel that they could win one, should be put up against a wall and shot!   On live TV!!  :y

That'll be Tony Blair then?  ::)

I thought the EU did make it pretty clear last time that they would be joining the Euro and would have to meet the various fiscal tests first. It was probably out-blustered by Salmond's promises of "cake and eat it", though. ::)
