Price?
« on: 19 March 2017, 07:54:59 »

The V70 has a split outer cv boot on the n/s.I've bought one of those stretch types complete with a cone thing.Anyone have a ballpark figure of what kind of price I'm looking at to have this fitted?

I suspect for warranty reasons, any garage will want to fit ones they supply

Half hour labour  :y

One thing I will say though.....

Whilst they're easy to fit..... they are shite in terms of longevity. Seen a few come back so we take the joint off now (where possible of course as some don't ever want to come apart).  :y

Half hour labour sounds reasonable enough.I'll phone round some places today and get some quotes[didn't do so before as I wanted a rough idea of time/price so I'd know they weren't trying it on]if of course I can find one that'll fit the one I've got[as TB suggests they may not].Not too bothered about longevity at this point as long as it gets through test.

Absolutely, its only worth ever fitting a decent brand CV boot, the stretchy type don't last at all well.

Plus its only about an extra 10 minutes or so to pop the circlip out

I would put a CV boot change at closer to 45-60 minutes given its a wheel off, ball joint split, hub nut off job.
