which is the same as piD or 3.14159 x diameter

or if you wish to be more accurate ..

The guesswork, Wheel and tyre 28 inches in diameter.

This combination gives me 48.8 MPH for each 1000 RPM.

100 MPH was slightly less than 4000 RPM in my 2.6 auto.

With a torquey 2.3 litre lump top gear acceleration would have been good though.

Well Ron, a billion has always been a thousand million when I do the maths (or should that be 'math' for our cousins from the former British colonies)

There is an English term for a thousand million - a Milliard - but few people use it as it's so close to million.
Why not avoid confusion and follow scientific practice (and computing terminology) use Mega, Giga, Tera, etc?
