Sounds like Autocar got it spot on. The Signum was the confirmation that post Omega, Vauxhall weren't interested in building decent cars. 
I have wondered lately if Vauxhall has deliberately been run into the ground to justify selling it off on the cheap.
Their cars of the last decade or more, have been utter crap in every way. Shame.

Sometimes you have to pay more if you don't want your car to sound like a cement mixer.

I certainly wouldn't buy a derv Signum. Agricultural fuel does nothing for me. But with the 2.8 V6 petrol lump it's not a bad car.
