Low Mileage Black Elite
« on: 09 April 2017, 21:37:57 »

Nothing at all to do with me, black late Elite with only 54k and same owner since 2004. Nice to see them holding their value:

Minimum of info, number plate obscured so history cant be checked, and its a 2.6. A large dose of wishful thinking imo.  ::)

Nice to see that someone agrees with the valuation I placed on mine - £4,000 - and this example looks to be superb.

I bought mine at 54,000 miles, and if there was a short trip issue it has never shown itself. ;)

But yours is a 3.2, presumably with a good history which you would use as part of an advert if you wanted to sell it.
This seller is giving almost no info about the car, other than the fact it has low mileage.
Personally I cant see any Omega being worth £4k these days, but that one, as it stands in the advert, is barely worth  £1k in my opinion.
My 3.2 Elite is very similar to yours (same colour too) has had approx. £1500 in parts replaced within the last year, but has 175k showing on the clock, so is never going to command a resale price in the thousands due to that.
The days when miles on the clock were the main indicator of how good a car is are long gone, but many buyers don't realise this, hence someone trying to sell a car on mileage alone for an extremely high price.

54k over 14yrs is 74 miles a week, hardly "daily use" in my book. If the advert were better and it was all that it claims to be (immaculate, hardly used, fully serviced etc etc) it could be worth that kind of money to the right person, but I still doubt it.

I know a number of people who have said their cars are worth in that kind of region, however, that's because they're yours, you know what has been spent, what's right, wrong etc etc. Would you give someone that same £4k for a car which you can't know in that kind of detail? Probably not.

It's nice enough .....but £4000 a 2.6 Elite. :o :o :o

I suggest people post links to other cars priced in the £4000 category for comparison.

I'm too lazy to do this. :y

Porsche tickle Sir's fancy? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201704034016076
BMW 7-series, 5-series http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201703223553573 or http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201612150628059
A raft of Signums (but who'd buy one of those?)
Porsche 924? Might turn into an appreciating classic, has half the miles too: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201704044033364 ;D

Actually at that price point (ignoring the old Porsches) it seems much of a muchness - old BMW, old Audi, old Vauxhall.. your choice ;)

924 Turbo would be better. :)

If memory serves the 924 was never considered a 'pukka Porsche'
