Today I drive from .......
« on: 10 April 2017, 11:22:29 »

.....Wales to Lincolnshire.

I will pass through Leominster, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, M42, M6, M69, M1, A46......etc..etc.

If you happen to spy an ugly old bastard driving a 2013 Jaguar XFR presented in ultimate black please feel free to give me a wave (or alternative hand gesture  ::))

If the Gods and traffic are with me  a 'dieselesque' 25-28 MPG may be possible. :y

I got over 30mpg from my 3.2 on a 180 mile return trip to Heathrow last Tues. morning. Its amazing the effect  on mpg having swmbo in the passenger seat can have.  :)

The mighty Signum, and former 2.6 MV6, managed 28-32ish for the same journey according to the trip computer (which I suspect is 'set up' to please the driver)

Tunnie would probably average about 150 MPG. ;)

That's very true.  ;D :y  Mrs YZ can read me like a book and when she spots the characteristics of me weighing up a manoeuvre she says firmly "Can you not do what you are thinking of doing".  ;D

Even for the thirsty 3.2 that is bad. Is there something wrong with it?

......an easy 150 MPG from the VW though. :y

Got to do the same journey tomorrow for a flight arriving at 9.30 am. Don't know whether to leave really to avoid the rush hour or just suffer it.  :-\

Is your right foot a bit on the heavy side, Mr. Tunnie?  ;)

On a run, 30 is achievable by a man of your means.

Any commute inside the M25 is going to hurt any traditional auto I'm afraid.  Including whatever shitbox Mrs T wants.

Leave early. The extra in car parking will far outweigh the stresses of spending the whole rush hour on the M25. the reality will only mean getting up an hour earlier to beat the traffic ;)
