Im going to be changing this (rad) as its leaking badly, and additionally against my instinct was convinced a rad sealer was all I needed, and yes you've guessed it now overheats as well.
Anyway I have been unable to find a how to I"m sure one exists because I remember reading it??  what I can't remember is whether the the electric fan needs to be separated from the rad as there doesn't seem to be much wiggle room.

Fans come out attached to the rad, but your right, there isn't much wriggle room. Remove the "bagpipes" air intake and things get a bit easier from there. Unplugging the sensors down the passenger side is probably the most awkward part in my experience.

Electric fan and gearbox cooler radiator come out as one unit.seperable from each other once removed.

How difficult is it, please, because I am likely to need to replace mine when my temporary repair gives up?
Also, where's best to get a replacement from - mine is also a 2.6 Auto saloon, '51 Reg.

Bag pipes out, plugs off and two bolts hold the fan on... undo and remove. Oil cooler on that should be one bolt, undo and support the pipes out of the way... carry on from there

As mentioned above .remove bagpipes first and associated items for better access .hoses and electrical plugs ,gearbox cooler pipes(type that go over rad on lhs) unit just pulls upwards and out. Unbolt cooler (careful not to empty oil out)unbolt fan,remove temp switches and bypass pump if not already done. I got my replacement off eBay ,various makes and prices.mine was about £60 but was a pattern part.all fitted ok but some fettling to top where fan fits over ridge.different makes or original might not need this fettling!.check carefully,seal or replace temp switch washers or they may seep .

No one has mentioned the A/C condenser

IIRC (if I recall correctly) the A/C condenser is screwed to the front of the rad - undo some screws and you can leave it behind when you lift the radiator out

On my 2003 2.6 it didn't need to be touched and remained in place. Don't know if this applies to all omegas or just 2.6 models ?

I tend to remove the thermoswitches once the radiator is out... occasionally the new radiator needs a tweak where they screw in
