The chancellors wheels

I see on eBay, one satin red 2.6 elite sighted as carrying Gordon Brown, not sure if that increases the £1300 asking price or should lower it?

I'm not sure this is correct. I recall that when he was chancellor of the exchequer that he had a red Omega, but certainly not an Elite - I would have noticed it at the time.

He then went into Tony B Liars Jag when he became PM ......

Back in about 1988 Mrs Thatcher driver took an unauthorized diversion to our road in her PM Jaguar  (or was it a Daimler? - time distorts) when she was at an official function locally, to visit his American cousins who were living over here on secondment to the USAF.

What a stir it caused.  He wouldn't allow us to look in the boot, as "top secret" security stuff was there, but we looked everywhere else!  The thickness of the car doors and weight of them was amazing, with the glass being about 4 inches thick and with armour behind the door cards.

We had about 30 minutes of "inspection time", and then the car was off back to pick up the PM. :y

However the car is dressed up as Gordon Browns wheels it's just a well kept 2.6 elite in satin red and it's still done 126,000 miles or so from memory, I'd guess £800 in value?

If the car was formerly owned by Jesus rather than Gordon Brown it would be worth considerably more. :)

Pretty sure Jesus didn't drive an Omega. :)

It might be presented as such, but what I'm saying is that I'd have noticed him having an Elite (as I had one at the time), and he defo didn't have one. It was a red FL Omega granted, but not an Elite - as DG concurs with .......

If you want proof then enter "Gordon Brown" Omega into Google images, it's the first image which very clearly shows it's a CD & not an Elite!
