Thing is if the police were to turn out a motorcycle can go many places that a car can't,and I believe their powers for engaging in a chase are pretty limited and would only add to the "enjoyment" of said yoofs.Vigilante type action whilst very tempting is not a path anyone should tread.

There are a lot of scramblers and even more quadbikes around here usually driven like nutters by people with no helmets, plates etc.. I actually spotted two police this morning on liveried scramblers, presumably precisely to follow people like that..

I had heard that some[at least]force areas had taken that approach to the problem, how many there are or how effective I don't know.

Now I live in the South Wales valley's,and very green and peaceful it is to,but the problem being the mountain tops are all open land. Weekends are a nightmare, not only local yoofs, but riders from over the bridge, (Bristol area) come to ride the paths on the mountainside ,terrible noise and damage to the land and paths.
The police do very little to stop them, and they just laugh at joe public when told to sod of elsewhere.

But surely the sheep can't run away, when their back lags are trapped in your green wellies?  ;D

I know exactly how you feel annihilator , I deal with these types every day in my job (HMPS) but unfortunately these types think very differently to normal law abiding people , they don't care about consequences & have nil respect for members of the public. As crazy as the system is I would advise no members on here to confront any of these idiots because in my experience to them "life is cheap" and confrontation will probably lead to violence , not the comments you wanted to hear but this type of lowlife is best left to the law to deal with eventually.

My dog don't need any processed stuff, he will just take a bite out of anything inclueing me!, the visit to the hospital hurt more than the bloodly bite did.

Used to scream up and down track here, think they removed silencers just to be more annoying. Was considering a rope between trees, blamo go for a fly! One of them did crash into a lampost and died, shame!

I'd best not pop down the Chippy on the scrambler anymore then, now I know how it upsets people.  :-X

Not sure if this still stands but I believe the old rule was that if the offender removed their helmet the Police were advised to back off.  :-\
Personally I'd rather keep my helmet intact.  :o :o ::)

Used to get them in the woods near where I was brought up. A mate of mine had the perfect antidote, though. He had 3 effing great Irish wolf hounds who would run after them, lift them by the back of the trouser waist and yank them off the back of the bike before smothering them, but leaving no signs of injury. ;D I don't remember one bike ever outrunning them. Certainly made the little scrotes think twice about riding around when he was out for a walk. :D
