'Touching wood'...I've not had the misfortune of damaging 'The Tractor' and I don't want to,but 4 years ago this Sunday my beloved 'BOB' met an untimely death at the hands of one our 'ethnic friends' in a Toyota Carina  :'( :'( :'(

BOB was my 1988 Tungsten Grey Renault 21 Turbo that I'd bought 18 months previous from the 1st owner with 99k on the clock.
In that time I made all manner of changes to the suspension and engine (was running 225bhp) and started to get involved with the 'Trackday' scene.

He was my daily runner, then at weekends we used to tear up the strip at The 'Pod or set a few laps on track...it was all good!!

Then that fatefull morning that I set out to work early, I'd dropped off a pair of carbs for my Mums TVR at our local Carb centre for re-jetting, then set off on the final leg.
I got out of the junction at the bottom of the road and turned left and minding my own business I noticed a Fiesta flash its lights......that was the point that the Toyota came straight out of the side street and stopped in front of me  :o :o
I was doing about 40mph,you can guess the rest.......
T-Boned her square on in the N/S at 40,didn't have time to brake so took the full impact  >:(

Anyway,4 years on,one permanently damaged right shoulder (which finished my job in the motor trade :'( ) and i'm still waiting for a compensation payout....

The wosrt bit of all was that in the heat of the moment I was dead set on repairing him...until I found out it had pushed both chassis legs over to the right and had split the inner wing open.
Was quoted about £1500 to repair the chassis damage so had to take the painfull decision to break him  :'(

Insurance paid out £700 for the car and I kept the salvage.
A week after the asseser had been round the engine was removed and promptly (with the help of 2 mates) fitted into my R21T Quadra 4x4 that was waiting for an engine rebuild.
It got me back on the road anyway!!!
I've since sold the Quadra and now have another Ph1 in Black (2 previous owners and is mint :y) which is undergoing a BIG BHP engine build, but its my project so no rush...

Oh and mickdundee....I REALLY like your V6,it looks the biz with the Irmscher kit on  :y :y

I've said to the Mrs that we'll keep 'The Tractor' for a while (still plenty of years left in the 'old girl!!) and if when we're ready to replace it we'll see if we can find a nice Silver Irmscher 3.2V6...but thats a long way off yet, only had ours a couple of weeks  ;D ;D
