It is. You have confirmed that the length of wire between plug and ecu is sound ;)

You need to check the opposite pin in the plug still attached to the battery tray and the cruise plug :y

Ok, time to get dismantling...

Passenger kick panel out, also sill trim for access... Only a few screws, so not the end of the world... Behind is a pair of large multiplugs, relevant one should be noted on the diagram. Check continuity from round socket to this plug and also from this plug to cruise and report back ;)

If easier first, pull radio and check for continuity between radio plug and battery socket and also radio and cruise.

Hopefully i can get to the bottom of it.  Is there a knack to removing the kick panel - it's never been off  :D

Just taken her for a spin and:
  • Radio Speed Auto Volume I don't think works - I dont know what speed I was doing - LOL - But I wasn't hangin about !
  • ABS Definitely works ;D
  • Traction control Definitely works - as the 2 small black lines out of my Garage proove before the orange TC light flicked on  ;D
Will reconvene tomorrow and hopefully the culprit is behind the passenger kick panel (It was Passenger and not Drivers ?).

No worries. The more points you can check between, the better isolated the culprit. My money is sadly on the Abs ecu, but it's a very rare failure mode, and prudence dictates ruling out the wiring first :y

Ideally you need the Abs plug off in order to rule out that section of loom as well... Access improves if you unstrap the power steering reservoir and hoik it to one side ;)

Is the ABS ECU inside the ABS unit where the plug and brake pipes are ?

Yup. Stands to reason that if the wire is intact to the cruise from there, then the problem lies within the ecu. Equally if the wiring is NOT intact, then you'll need to establish where it is broken/damaged ;)

Are there any clips on the ABS Plug to push, pull, squeeze or swear at to get it off as I am sure there is Knack  :y

You should see a purple section sticking out of the right hand side of the plug.this slides out sideways and raises the plug off its pins. Just lifts off then

I thought that the pulses originated in the ABS ECU, & then fed them around using the red/blue wire?

Fingers crossed tomorrow will be a better day and I can find the Fault  :'(  I'll be installing a new wire at this rate from the main plug to Cruise Control  :D

To top it all, the Hot Water boiler is on the blink, fault code = 'New PCB'  :'(
