So, this is my 2003 Opel Omega, 2.2 DTi.

Comes from a single owner and relatively well mentained. I started working on it to get some rear arches and door sill rust out but by the time we really got into it we decided to give it a (almost) complete overhaul. So, body work begun 4 wheeks ago and today it will probably go to the paint shop to make her pretty again. All repairs where carried out with new panels and what I believe to be some of the best materials (including epoxy primer to stop and prevent the rust, or at least slow it down :) )

The "good stuff" is out :)

Some "invisible" details

Because almost everytime the rust on the Omega's door sills starts from the small pins on wich the sills covers clip we decided to find another solution to mount the covers. So, no more rusty pins on this one.

Waiting to leave to the paint shop.  8)

I also started working on the interior, where some of the "soft touch" was looking pretty bad. So I Started with the door panels, I only have pictures with one of them but they are all in the same condition now.

I removed all the soft touch and then I used a black primer (fairly resistant to scratches and also very easy to touch up on the spot if needed). In the future I may be going with something else (I have 4 spare door cards to play with) but for now its ok. Also polished the "wood" trims and changed the cloth with Alcantara on the trims.

The soft touch on the buttons was also dented, but I found out that using patience, a microfiber cloth and some Acetone helped level out the surface to a almost new condition.

Door cards take effort to sort, but well worth it 8)

I used cream alcantara on mine and the lower dash panels to lift the black interior slightly ;)

I have a long history of cars that in the end had a almost "all black" interior. I do like cream/brown/beige interiors but to do that I would preffer to start with one that came like that from the factory. Maybe my next Omega?  ???

How are you going to put the covers on without the clips?

Post plod, I fitted a cream leather interior complete with the lower dash gubbins, but kept a charcoal carpet and sill trim. When I later switched the cream leather for charcoal, I liked the contrast and swapped the door panels over. Only went with the Alcantara as I had an idea to do the headlining as well... Got the door panels and dash done, but never got as far as the headlining, so still have a 4 meter roll of the stuff ::)

I will try to make some photos. It will be a experiment, lets hope it goes well. :)

If I get the interior done this year I will be happy. I tend to do the same.  :)
