It would appear to be more of a pita to remove than I'd thought,so I'll just leave it be.Keeping the windows clear I achieve by my long standing habit of having a window open[just ever so slightly if raining]this also has the added benefit of extracting the fag smoke ;D

3 times now i've restored non functioning air con on a mig by just recharging it, why not try it? and if it is really knacked eg leak or pump gone, costs you nothing at ATS or kwick fit..  its not getting any cooler out there..

The leak has to be absolutely catastrophic for you to get away without paying ;)

Get any amount of refrigerant in there, and the Omega holds a shit load, and it will be cooler than before.

Mine doesn't seem as cool as it should be. It had a new condenser and regas last year. I must get it checked out.  ::)

if its got a leak even a small one they won't put any in in the first place, or shouldn't. they are supposed to test it before refilling. which will cost you nothing if it fails at most if not all places, not just ATS and KF.

The air-con on the omega is a very good system when working, as it should, on low with all Windows up, it should drop to about 6.0'c,
Mine gives me a pain across forehead after good run, and wifey says " it's too cold".

550 is about average. The refill bottles for our machine are 13kg each and cost approx 50 squid. So that's roughly 20 customer regasses. And a bit of oil each time which is cheap.

We charge 30 squid inc. vat (which I believe is cheapest in town  8)) but next door to us charges 70  ???

Especially as there's no labour lol you switch the machine on, hook it up and walk away for 30 minutes and do something else.

Pity you ain't near me on the Wirral, as I would round for my 950g refill at that price  :y :y.

I used an ATS just down the road from me.  They looked after me when I had the Condenser changed, as they drained all old out, I then got new Condenser fitted (courtesy of Daz  :y ) and then popped back for them to fill and pressurise and they only charged me for one go  :y

It's been a couple of years, so I was going to treat the girl to a re-gas ( once I get Speedo etc working as A/C i believe is impacted by by my Speedo fault as on wiring diagram inspection that also has an input from the ABS ECU and same signal which goes to Speedo / Cruise / Radio / sunroof etc).

I can see some light at the end of my Speedo issue so fingers crossed  :y

If people knew were you were and prices charged, and how to book in, am sure helpful admins would help with 're posting in relevant section.

They have no way of detecting anything more than a catastrophically big leak.  So, the sort of leak that means it will all leak out within a few days won't be noticed by them on their hold test, and the refrigerant will stay in for long enough for it to be cold at point of test.  Tomorrow, it might have lost enough not to be efficient.
