How rare is the facelift Omega with cream interior
« on: 05 August 2008, 11:34:24 »

I'm going to buy a another Omega, facelift model, despite my bad experience last time around.

What I really want is one with cream interior, like this one on ebay;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMEGA-CDX-2-2i-AUTO-59-000-miles-2-owners-from-new_W0QQitemZ200244001784QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200244001784&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

It seems they are quire rare to get hold of, most are boring grey. Any advice how/what to search for, ie a CDX or anything? Cheers.

that is a very nice example of an Omega, just reading the advert tells me that this has been well cared for.
it would seem that the grey fabric was the more common choice, i would have expected to see grey in a black car, mine is nocturno blue and i had a grey fabric.

It is a case of keep searching, try and get the best you possible can for your money.
Bear in mind that anything that is newer that 2001 will be subject to the retrospective tax hike that is coming next year.

Personally if i was buy that i would slap a LPG kit on it....but then i do that with all my omegas now  ;D

I'm not buying that one, too far to travel.

Excuse my ignorance here, but what is happening next year with the tax hike?

Next year, all cars made AFTER March 1st 2001 will be subject to road tax based on emissions.

2.2 Omega will be around £300 ish

V6 Omegas will be £440 a year to tax, £445 in 2010.

What happens if you are Dual fuel, I know it doesn't effect me "At The Moment", but GB will no doubt change that.

Oh, it reduces if you have dual fuel (and jump through the required hoops). It reduces by £10 IIRC. >:(

Government have also said that they will introduce rises "sigificantly above inflation" for older than 2001 cars in coming years to discourage use of older cars so the pre-2001 loophole might well close up yet.  >:(

allegedly they've buckled on this one and dropped the 2009 rate from £440 to just £300 for V6 but still up to £455 for 2010, parkers have updated

 .......

An interior like that would stay clean for about 20 mins in my hands, especially whe then the kids were small. Certain places in the grey interior of my Senator (very similar to grey Omegas) wouldn'y come clean again ie driver's left foot rest. I'll stick with my black leather interior! :y  :y  :y
