If you live and eat as advised then Type 2 diabetes is easily controlled, if you ignore it and carry on as normal it can catch up with you in lots of nasty ways, including having to switch from tablets to insulin, heart and circulation problems, including lower limb amputation, kidney failure and blindness to name but a few.

Two of my uncles[my mothers side of the family]died of diabetes back in the late '50s.Maureen had type 2 for a good many years and controlled it as you say with tablets and switching her diet.

To be fair to her, I doubt I could live as advised while campaigning in a general election and holding down a senior cabinet position.
