If Corbyn was stupid and idealistic enough to do it - and his history shows that to be a possibility - then that would be the result.
What a left wing govt. would certainly deliver is economic ruin. Every single one of them has since the first one was elected, and that will never change.
Which is why the billion quid of grubby money, is a billion quid well spent.

And if you think that's what a left-wing coalition would deliver, I'll take two of whatever you're smoking  :D

 ;D

Joking apart I think that Albs does have a point.  Both Corbyn and McDonnell are on record supporting a united Ireland and the idea has raised it's head in Brussels in the chit chat regarding BREXIT and the UK/EIRE border.  ;)

Would the Unionist community take this lying down if the prospect of a united Ireland gathered steam?  ???

I doubt it to be honest.  ::)

Very true.

But if we're talking about on the record, Ms Weak n Wobbly wants us to remain as we're stronger in Europe. There was no general election coming in 2017, and I want to know when the first week's £350m is due that Boris promised us. In reality, none of the above on the record statements is going to come into reality in my lifetime.

And now for something completely different...

Lot of ifs, ands and buts, as usual. None of which are ever likely to happen but, hey, talking hypothetically is all some people have left. Then again, some of us this side of the water might not give a shite what goes on across the Irish Sea, as long as we get our winter fuel payments. ;D

Ireland to vote to leave EU next?  :D

Apparently over 80% of trade is with UK, it would solve border issues and we just carry on as before.

I want to know when the first week's £350m is due that Boris promised us.....

This has always bemused me, when people carry on about Boris and his bus. ::)

As far as I remember it was just a suggestion that we could spend the £350m a week that we pay the EU on the NHS instead, yet for many it seems to have become a promise written in stone!  ::)  OK the actual figure quoted was a bit naughty as that represents the gross contributions to the EU and dosn't take account of the rebate and money given back for CAP and other projects, but never the less the suggestion that there will be significant sums of money that could be spent on the NHS is and was sound IMO. :y

Maybe it's just me.....  :-X  ::)  ;D

Your correct. :y...........although it was a stupid slogan which was always going to bite them on the arse afterwards.
I can say this because I didn't support the Judean peoples front. I supported the Peoples front of Judea.  :y ;D
As for the Republic of Ireland leaving the EU ? If it runs out of euros to give them, there will be no reason for them to stay, so it will then become an issue.

I wonder if they'd need so many referenda to decide to leave? ;)

How many referendums did they have on the EU Constitution Lisbon Treaty before it was passed?  :-\

Um no, its more that he said it, on the record:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1298176/Boris-Johnson-makes-claim-leaving-EU-free-350m.html

and has continued to say it

http://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/special-shows/ask-boris/boris-johnson-live-on-lbc-watch/

But don't let that get in the way of your memories.

Also, by "a bit naughty" I assume you mean made up  ::) in that it assumes we can have back our contributions £350m and keep all the money the eu sends back to us. The very definition of having your cake and eating it.

Let me explain the 'principle' for you:

When politicians expect to lose a campaign(everybody expected the EU referendum result to go the other way), they make specific promises sure in the knowledge that they won't ever have to make good on them - We'll spend the £350million a week that the EU costs on the NHS

When they expect to win, all you hear is vague groups of words that sound like English phrases - Brexit means Brexit.

All you needed to explain is what the word "could" means.  ;) ::)

They had one on the EU constitution but gave the wrong answer, so the title was changed to the Lisbon treaty, and a few things typed up in a slightly different way. They then had to vote again and give the right answer.  :)
