What kind of lesson?
« on: 06 July 2017, 19:58:49 »

In town this lunchtime and in between dodging the people trying to get you to sign up for some charity or other and the shop front "homeless"asking for change I saw a couple of young women[in their 20s I'd guess]with a little girl[again a guess but I'd say 5 or 6yrs old why wasn't she in school?]These two women were actively encouraging the little girl to kick the pigeons[of which there are plenty]and praising her if she came even close to doing so.Don't get me wrong I'm no fan of pigeons however what kind of lesson is this behaviour teaching the little girl?

Now, if they were wood pigeon, I'd support a 100% cull - I hate the creatures to a professional level!

"Catch the pigeon, catch the pigeon.......Stop the pigeon, stop the pigeon" is coming into my mind with Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines in Wacky Races.  Great cartoon series ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Of pigeons or little girls, Albs?

Both, in this case, I'd suspect!

Since Bazza mentioned the charity chuggers - is it me or are there more of them, this year? Including going door-to-door.. I swear this year I've had Barnardos, MacMillan (twice) and someone else all come to the door, dressed head to toe in company garb, clipboard in hand. They look very disappointed when I tell them no, and no again when they say "But it's for the children/cancer sufferers/disabled, Sir!"

Should be bloody banned.

We donate to a charity each month by direct debit have done for years now, if approached in the street I simply tell them that & have never had any problems.
