Derrrr I thought it would be interesting to try eating cherry seeds, by cracking open the stone and eating the seed inside and they tasted of cherry flavoured almonds, yummy, let's have some more.

Derrrr now I feel ill, I had better Google why? They taste of almonds where they are high in cyanide and I might be dying derrrr.

And the clincher for idiot of the week: Derrr cherries should come with health warnings not to eat the seeds. So, if you see any cherry trees wrapped up with loads of H&S warning notices you will know why.

Many fruit seeds contain cyanide or arsenic for those that don't know, including apples.

Most if not all seeds and pips contain cyanide, even I knew that

there was an article aboit the seeds, that you dont mash them but rather swallow whole and it was supposed to give an immunity to something but I cant remember what

But now they have made people aware of the freely available poison, I think this will be a fad like the acid attacks

I had no idea about the seed/stone cyanide thing. I would have been completely capable of doing what he did

My daughter is going into her final year at university studies Pharmacy.
My Son got a 1st MCHEM and has spent 2 years in Drug discovery and is now going to university to become a Chemistry teacher, both confirmed to me yesterday that cherry seeds do not have Cyanide in them.

But they do contain a substance that the body converts to cyanide.
