Can anyone remember being told how computers were going to save the rain forest as they would do away with the requirement for paper? I guess the rain forests have all gone by now, given the ludicrous amount of paper dross that comes through my letter box.

Going paperless was never going to save the rainforests, as they're predominantly hardwood. And paper is made from softwood grown as a crop.

I think they have all been cleared to create palm oil plantations. Palm oil is very popular with the processed food industry as a texture enhancer where they use it in everything from bread and biscuits to Nutella and peanut butter. Unfortunately, it is also very bad for us where it is very high in saturated fat and chemicals in processed palm oil promotes the growth and spread of certain cancers.
