well I went out this morning and drove 6 miles, with no problems. Gears changed smoothly, drove at speeds from 20mph to 30mph, it even pulled away from lights and junctions and changed gears no problem.

I have been out and seperated the Cranksensor connector in the engine bay.  It was slightly oily and dirty,have sprayed some electrical contact cleaner inside it. I am going to clean it again in a while and use some cotton buds to make sure it is clean inside it.

OK, that's "Incorrect Ratio".

Either there is insufficient fluid in box, the box is badly worn, or has a solenoid type issue.


I'd check fluid level, and if OK, replace box with known good.  Wouldn't expect to pay more than £50 - 75 for a known good box.

Thanks for the reply. Will get levels checked, hope that is the problem, been intouch with Omega52 on Ebay about a autobox if the worst case scenario is box damaged.  Just need to find somewhere near to me in Paisley or Glasgow, that can fit it.

Found a autobox specialist in Glasgow, will see what they say.  Wish I lived close to Daz in Stoke on Trent. He did lots of work for me before on my old Omegas when I lived near to him.

Just a quick question, what is the best ATF fluid to use if the box needs topping up? I am not sure what is in it.  Can I use ATF II or ATF III?
