try defragging it, if it has a dvd/cd burner copy all files (word documents , photos, music etc) to dvd/cd disk and delete it from you harddrive.
how big is the hard drive?

Better off adding an external USB hard drive and moving files on to it on a weekly basis.

IIRC a defrag require 15% harddrive space?  (i havnt done one on Vista yet having only gotten this computer a week ago)

So unless your harddrive is like 20/40GB you must have a damned lot of junk on it...

A defrag won't make any free space, whereas Disk Cleanup will.

Probably all disappeared due to all the Windows Updates....I wonder if its just installed XP SP3..?

Try a Search, then go for Advanced Search and look for any files bigger than 100Mb...unless you store films on it, the only one which might get close is your email data file (outlook.pst, assuming you're using Microsoft Outlook).

I bet your virtual memory is running out because of all the programs you have added, so shut them down and delete the short cut's from the desk top.and then try to defrag the machine. vista is so very memory hungry you could add extra RAM

Only 20Gb disk??  :o

Suggest you get a larger disk......60Gb or bigger......not too expensive....

Dunno what OS your running but if XP......that will take up nearly 10G of your 20G disk

Hi, go to "My Computer" and right click on your "C" drive click proprieties and then "Disc Cleanup".  And then buy an external USB hard drive which are very cheap and copy all the files that you normally use to it.
