Also, I thought that on connecting to your car, the bluefin "paired" itself with your VIN, making it unusable by anyone else - not sure where I read that though, probably on PH forum, so make of it what you will
EDIT: just seen this on their website, looks like eGay ones could be a waste of £5.50, or represent a small saving depending on the unlock charge
Can I use my Bluefin on more than one vehicle at a time?
The Bluefin is designed to become tied to one vehicle and, therefore, cannot be used on two vehicles at the same time. It is, however, possible to use the Bluefin to program one vehicle with the Superchip modification, then pay for the unit to be reset, at a reduced price from the RRP of a new unit, for use on a subsequent vehicle. This would, of course, mean that it could not be used again on the original vehicle as it will be tied to the current vehicle.
