LOL ....This thursday gonna bee good, murray of atholl kilt (tartan), skian doo (officers from crimean war), clan badges on the skeean doo, socks, belt buckle, lapel, with the clan badge plant...Oh yes heather is not a tradition, for each clan there is a scottish plant that goes with each clan badge, and for mine it is Ruscus aeschealatus, which I have growing in my garden, quite a rare plant as it goes. Gonna be good cos a gotta meeting at 10.30 and I will be i full regalia with tenants/residents, well leaseholders. But I do it every year especially at christmas events. Its my clan and same as baa baa rainbow sheep, if I liked could wear it to work every day, even with the dagger in ma sock ; recall I went to one of my staffs 20 yr do with the mayor etc, wore ma kilt etc, and to be honest, I think the mayor was a wee bit pissed off, cos I had more shiny bits than him
