After a nightmare of a day, I have finally got home with the MV6.
Picked up a towing dolly yesterday and found the the main bar had seizes / rusted into the axle housing, and the adjustable table, wasn't adjustable at that present time and it was too narrow for a miggy.
2 hrs to free the table, sorted..
table splits into 3 parts, big miggy boot, job done, ahhhh main bar is 4ft long with the axle attached. big miggy boot, seats folded flat, OOPS, Gas tank in the way.
Next idea, Roof rack for the bar. nope, wheels hit the roof. Center table with the Spindle hole on roof rack and the main bar with axle fitted to that.
9am off we go, Myself and Fred117, croydon for 12. put battery on car and load it on the dolly, complete with dodgy looking plug lead and missfire.
Phone call to Sir FFCGary1, and a quick meet Then onto the M25 50mph, home by 5pm
M40 jn2 Bangggggg. Dolly Tire burst and no spare, Phone call to the RAC, and get told "Is the towing vehicle drivable" "errrr yes, it's the trailer thats got a puncture" "ohh we can only recover it to a place of safety", GRRRRRRRRRRRR, then the wannabe traffic officers turned up, sorted them and phoned gary again, explained the prob and that the muppets were only gonna recover to a safe place. Off to the rescue, Gary finds some wheels and tyres and makes his way to us at JUNCTION 1 of the M40, after unloading the car from the dolly, folding the dolly and putting it in the MV, no gas tank, (EASY), and load the MV onto the recovery wagon.
Rims won't fit the dolly, tyres will, new tyres are tubless and can't get the valve out of the new rim.
THATS IT, 20 lts of fuel in the MV, full tank of gas in the Elite, 70 mph with a 4 1/2 cylinder MV
Home at 8pm
Happy to be home, but a bit pi$$ed at the RAC
